Senior System Engineer
We're looking for an experienced engineer who makes IT invisible for our clients. You run the environments of companies between 5 and 50 people, on Mac and on Windows, and you're their go-to technical contact. You fix the problem, explain in plain language what was going on, and see what the client will need next year.
What you'll do
- Run Macs and Windows
Deploy, secure and manage laptops, from first unboxing to replacement. The Mac isn't an afterthought here. For many of our clients it's the standard.
- Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
Set up and maintain tenants: identity, access, mail and security policies. You spot what's off before the client notices.
- Network and infrastructure
Firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi and VPN, on-site at the client and remotely. Plus virtualisation and the servers that are still around.
- Hard incidents and proactive management
You take on the complex tickets yourself and fix them at the root. You keep environments healthy so the same outage doesn't come back.
- Advise and think ahead
You know the clients and their work. When a client needs something, like a replacement round, better security or a migration, you turn it into a proposal and join the conversation when it gets technical. No targets, real ownership.
- Help the team grow
You're the technical go-to for colleagues and you take interns and less experienced engineers along in your work.
This is you
- —At least five years of experience in IT management, ideally at an IT service provider, working independently at 2nd and 3rd line level.
- —You know macOS inside out. You've deployed and managed Macs in a business environment, not just at home.
- —Microsoft 365 and Entra ID are daily work for you: identity, access, conditional access and device management.
- —You're commercially strong. You see what a client needs, explain why, and simply propose it.
- —You talk to a managing director as easily as to an end user, and you explain tech without jargon.
- —You work in a structured way, document what you do and don't wait for instructions.
- —You speak and write Dutch and English well.
This is not you (and that's fine)
- —You want to clear tickets and skip client contact. Then this isn't the place for you.
- —You see the Mac as a toy. For our clients it's where they work.
What we offer
- €4,000 to €5,000 gross per month at 40 hours, based on experience
- 32 to 40 hours per week
- Office on the Koivistokade, at clients in the region and partly from home
- Small team, no layers between you and the client
- A real lunch at the office, every day
- Ping-pong, foosball, pool and an arcade cabinet
- Weekly Friday drinks, plus outings you won't want to miss
